Peer Review Process

The International Journal of Social Science and Applied Technology (IJSSAT) is committed to maintaining high academic standards through a rigorous, ethical, and efficient peer review process. We adopt a double-blind peer review model, in which the reviewers remain anonymous, but the identities of the authors are known to the reviewers.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

All submitted manuscripts are first reviewed by the desk editor or a designated managing editor to assess their fit with the journal’s aims and scope, adherence to submission guidelines, and overall quality. Submissions that do not meet the basic requirements may be returned to authors or desk rejected without external review.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers. In the double-blind process:

  • Reviewers are anonymous to authors.
  • Reviewers are aware of the authors’ identities.

This process is designed to provide objective and constructive feedback while allowing reviewers to consider the context and background of the submitted work.

3. Reviewer Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript based on:

  • Relevance to the journal’s scope
  • Originality and contribution to the field
  • Conceptual and theoretical foundation
  • Clarity and soundness of methodology
  • Quality and accuracy of data analysis
  • Strength of conclusions and implications
  • Overall coherence and structure
  • Proper citation and ethical research practices

4. Editorial Decision

After receiving reviewer reports, the editor will make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

Authors will receive the reviewers’ anonymised comments and are expected to revise the manuscript accordingly, along with a detailed response letter.

5. Revisions and Final Acceptance

Revised manuscripts may be sent back to reviewers for further evaluation or assessed by the editorial team. Final decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the quality of revisions and reviewers’ feedback.

6. Review Timeline

IJSSAT is dedicated to an efficient review and publication process:

Initial editorial screening: within 10 days;

Peer review process: approximately 4-6 weeks;

Post-acceptance publication: within 4-8 weeks;

7. Ethics and Confidentiality

IJSSAT adheres to the ethical standards outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Reviewers are required to treat manuscripts confidentially and declare any conflicts of interest.
