Authors should use Times New Roman, 12 pts, throughout the manuscript. All text should be single-spaced.
Headings Structure
Heading 1
Subheading 1.1.
Subheading 1.1.1 (12 pt, bold, italic)
Structure for Original Research Articles
Original research articles should be composed according to the following sections in this order:
- Abstract – Executive summary of the manuscript which includes the specific aims, a brief description of the method, the main results and conclusions in a single paragraph not exceeding 300 words. No references should be included in the abstract. Non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if essential, they must be defined at their first mention in the abstract itself.
- Keywords – A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 words indicating the essentials of the research work.
- Introduction – A brief literature review and previous relevant work with references. Include the objectives of the research work clearly in the final paragraph.
- Methods – Precise methods should be described to ensure reproducibility. Published or known methods should be cited correctly, and if there are any modifications, they should be noted.
- Results – Clear and concise presentation of findings. Using tables and figures may improve clarity. Avoid repetition of the same results in text, tables, and figures.
- Discussion – Explains the significance, impact, and consequences of the results. Results and discussion may be combined or separated.
- Conclusion – It is not mandatory. However, if the discussion is extensive, authors are advised to provide a conclusion to summarise results interpretation with suggested recommendations. Avoid repetition of points made in preceding sections.
- Ethics Approval and Consent to Participate – Please indicate whether the research has received ethics approval and whether participants have consented to partake in the study.
- Acknowledgement – In this section, you can acknowledge any support given which is not covered by the author contribution or funding sections.
- Funding – Indicate any source of funding.
- Conflict of Interest – This section is required for all manuscripts. If there are no interests to declare, please use the following wording: "The authors declare there are no conflicts of interest" or "The author declares there are no conflicts of interest."
- References – All references in the text must be listed in the references section with the names of authors arranged alphabetically. It is the duty of the author to ensure all references cited are listed, COMPLETE and ACCURATE. Please ensure all references cited within the text are also present in the reference list (and vice versa). IJSSAT requires using the APA (7th ed.) reference format.
Structure for Review Papers
Review papers should follow a structure appropriate to the topic being reviewed but must include:
- Abstract (as described above)
- Keywords (as described above)
- Introduction – Clearly state the purpose and scope of the review
- Main Body – Organized with appropriate headings and subheadings reflecting the content and focus areas of the review
- Critical Analysis – Evaluation of the current state of knowledge, identifying gaps, contradictions, and future directions
- Conclusion – Summary of key findings and implications
- Acknowledgement, Funding, and Conflict of Interest (as described above)
- References – Following APA 7th edition style
Structure for Case Studies
Case studies should include:
- Abstract and Keywords (as described above)
- Introduction – Background information and relevance of the case
- Case Presentation – Detailed description of the case
- Methods – How the case was studied or analyzed
- Findings – Results or observations from the case analysis
- Discussion – Interpretation and implications of the case
- Conclusion – Key takeaways and recommendations
- Ethics Statement – Regarding consent and confidentiality measures
- Acknowledgement, Funding, Conflict of Interest, and References (as described above)
Structure for Theoretical or Conceptual Papers
Theoretical papers may follow their own logical structure but should generally include:
- Abstract and Keywords (as described above)
- Introduction – Background and purpose of the theoretical exploration
- Theoretical Framework – Description of the theoretical perspective being developed
- Analysis and Discussion – Development of arguments and theoretical insights
- Implications – Theoretical and practical applications
- Conclusion – Summary of contributions to the field
- Acknowledgement, Funding, Conflict of Interest, and References (as described above)
Authors should note that while the above structures are recommended for clarity and consistency, reasonable adjustments may be made to best suit the specific content and focus of the paper, particularly for interdisciplinary work at the intersection of social science and technology.
