Author Guidelines

1. Article Types

IJSSAT accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles
  • Case Studies
  • Theoretical or Conceptual Papers

All submissions must be original, previously unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal.

2. Language

Manuscripts must be written in clear, academic English. Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally proofread prior to submission.

3. Formatting Requirements

Authors must follow the journal’s standard formatting to ensure consistency across all publications. Please download and use the official template: IJSSAT Article Template (available at ijssat.org).

4. Submission Requirements

All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system (OJS platform) at https://ijssat.org. New users must register before submitting.

Authors must provide full names, institutional affiliations, and email addresses for all authors. The corresponding author must be clearly indicated.

5. Open Access and Article Processing Charges (APC)

IJSSAT is a fully open-access journal. All published content is freely available to readers worldwide without subscription or registration.

An Article Processing Charge (APC) of 80 USD is applied only after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication. No fees are charged at the submission or peer review stage.

To support emerging scholars and promote quality research, all submissions received on or before December 31, 2026 will continue to be eligible for free publication with no APC.

Author(s) invited by the Editorial Team, recommended by Editorial Board members, or referred by cooperating academic organisations may be eligible for a waiver code that exempts the APC. For full details, please refer to the Open Access Policy page on the journal website.

6. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain full copyright of their work without restrictions. Upon acceptance, authors grant IJSSAT a non-exclusive licence to publish, reproduce, and distribute the article in all formats and media.

All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0), which permits others to share and redistribute the work with proper attribution, provided the material is not used for commercial purposes and is not modified, adapted, or transformed.

By submitting a manuscript to IJSSAT, the author(s) agree to:

  • Retain full copyright of their published work.
  • Grant IJSSAT a non-exclusive right to publish and distribute the work as the original place of publication.

7. Manuscript Structure

Headings

  • Heading 1— 12 pt, bold (e.g., 1. Introduction)
  • Subheading 1.1— 12 pt, bold (e.g., 1.1 Background)
  • Subheading 1.1.1— 12 pt, bold italic (e.g., 1.1.1 Regional Context)

Structure for Original Research Articles

Original research articles should follow this structure:

Abstract — An executive summary including research aims, methodology, main findings, and conclusions, in a single paragraph (max. 300 words). No references or uncommon abbreviations.

Keywords — 3 to 5 keywords capturing the essence of the research.

Introduction — A concise literature review with references to relevant prior work. Research objectives should be clearly stated in the final paragraph.

Methods — A detailed methodology description sufficient for reproducibility. Published methods should be cited; modifications noted.

Results — Clear and concise presentation of findings. Tables and figures may enhance clarity. Avoid repeating data across text, tables, and figures.

Discussion — Interpretation of results, including significance, implications, and limitations. May be combined with or separated from Results.

Conclusion — Optional but recommended for extensive discussions. Summarise key findings and provide recommendations.

Ethics Approval and Consent to Participate — State whether the research received ethics approval and whether informed consent was obtained.

Acknowledgements — Acknowledge support not covered by authorship or funding sections.

Funding — Declare all sources of funding.

Conflict of Interest — Required for all manuscripts. If none: “The author(s) declare(s) there are no conflicts of interest.”

References — List all cited works alphabetically using APA 7th Edition format. Ensure all in-text citations appear in the reference list and vice versa.

Structure for Review Papers

Review papers should adopt a structure appropriate to the topic and include:

  • Abstractand Keywords (as above)
  • Introduction— State the purpose and scope of the review
  • Main Body— Organised with headings and subheadings reflecting the review’s focus areas
  • Critical Analysis— Evaluate the current state of knowledge, identify gaps, contradictions, and future directions
  • Conclusion— Summarise key findings and implications
  • Acknowledgements, Funding, Conflict of Interest, and References(as above)

Structure for Case Studies

  • Abstractand Keywords (as above)
  • Introduction— Background and relevance of the case
  • Case Presentation— Detailed description of the case
  • Methods— How the case was studied or analysed
  • Findings— Results or observations from the case analysis
  • Discussion— Interpretation and implications
  • Conclusion— Key takeaways and recommendations
  • Ethics Statement— Consent and confidentiality measures
  • Acknowledgements, Funding, Conflict of Interest, and References(as above)

Structure for Theoretical or Conceptual Papers

Theoretical papers may follow their own logical structure but should generally include:

  • Abstractand Keywords (as above)
  • Introduction— Background and purpose of the theoretical exploration
  • Theoretical Framework— Description of the theoretical perspective being developed
  • Analysis and Discussion— Development of arguments and theoretical insights
  • Implications— Theoretical and practical applications
  • Conclusion— Summary of contributions to the field
  • Acknowledgements, Funding, Conflict of Interest, and References(as above)

While the structures above are recommended for clarity and consistency, reasonable adjustments may be made to suit the specific content and focus of the paper, particularly for interdisciplinary work at the intersection of social science and technology.
