Abstract

Acid attacks, as a form of extreme violence, inflict severe physical and psychological harm on victims and pose a serious threat to social security and public order. This paper reviews public security governance and crisis response measures related to acid attack incidents and analyses their causes, impacts, and coping strategies. This study indicates that the occurrence of acid attacks is the result of a combination of factors, including social inequality, gender discrimination, poverty, psychological issues, inadequate legal regulations, and lagging public security governance. This paper proposes a three-stage strategy for prevention, response, and postincident management and identifies the limitations of existing research and future directions. By strengthening legal regulations, implementing social interventions, transforming public security governance models, enhancing information monitoring and early warning, establishing rapid response mechanisms, fostering multidepartmental collaboration, ensuring information transparency and public opinion guidance, providing support and rehabilitation for victims, restoring social order, and summarizing experiences and making improvements, the incidence and harm of acid attack incidents can be effectively reduced.
